BASELOG Codification Programme

BASELOG is a programme designed to assist newcomers to the NATO Codification System (NCS). The programme is open to all NATO nations and to PfP nations.

Sponsored by NATO’s AC/135 (Group of National Directors on Codification), BASELOG resulted from the recognition that NATO partners and countries wishing to co-operate with NATO in the field of materiel management should use a common codification language, i.e. that of the NATO Codification System.

BASELOG services range from consultancy and training to full codification for weapon systems.

The BASELOG programme supports various approaches to introducing the NATO Codification System, namely:

• national development and implementation of the NCS
• acquisition of the NCS from another nation
• using another nation's NCS facilities
