Organization

The NATO Maintenance and Supply Organization (NAMSO) is managed by a Board of Directors (BOD), which oversees the NATO Maintenance and Supply Agency (NAMSA) and its performance of logistics support tasks.

Within NAMSO, nations can form partnerships to manage the support of a specific weapon system. The most common are the Weapon System Partnerships and the Support Conferences.

The NAMSO BOD appoints the NAMSA General Manager who has overall responsibility for the Agency’s management. After consultation, the Secretary General of NATO will confirm the decision through the signing of his/her contract.

NAMSA is organized into four Directorates (Logistics Programmes and Operations, Procurement, Finance and Resources), each headed by a Director.

The Logistics Programmes and Operations Directorate supervises nine Programme Management Offices (PMO), each responsible for the support of one or more weapon systems. This Directorate also oversees the work of a Transportation & Warehousing Division, of a Logistics Plans and Operations Office and of the Southern Operational Centre (SOC).

The Procurement Directorate, with one division, is responsible for contract negotiation and management.

The Finance Directorate, with one division, is responsible for the Agency’s financial management.

The Resources Directorate, with its four divisions, is responsible for personnel management, information systems and infrastructure.

Outside the Directorates, the HAWK Logistics Management office, reporting directly to the General Manager, manages the HAWK missile system.

In addition, the General Manager has a support staff: an Executive Officer (overseeing Policy and Planning, Quality Assurance and Public Relations), a Legal Advisor and an Internal Auditor.
