NAMSO, NAMSA and their place
in NATO
NAMSO The NATO Maintenance and Supply Organization (NAMSO) is a NATO Procurement, Logistics or Service Organization (NPLSO) established by the North Atlantic Council (NAC) in 1958 by approving the NAMSO Charter. NAMSO comprises the legislative entity, the Board of Directors (BOD), and NAMSA, the executive agency. The NAC has granted organizational, administrative and financial independence to NAMSO. Only the NAC can amend, dissolve or revoke the NAMSO Charter. NAMSO's mission is to maximise the effectiveness of logistic support provided to NATO Armed Forces and to minimise the cost to NATO nations, individually and collectively. NAMSO and NAMSA have formal arrangements with several NATO bodies, such as:
NAMSA The NATO Maintenance and Supply Agency (NAMSA) is the executive arm of NAMSO. Both NAMSO and NAMSA participate in NATO’s Logistics Committee (LC), the principal committee for consumer logistics. NAMSA actively participates in most of the groups established under the LC. NAMSO and NAMSA also contribute regularly to the work of the Conference of National Armaments Directors (CNAD) and its sub groups. For further information please contact Public Relations. |
