Internships (NICOLOG)
NAMSA has established the NAMSA International Cooperation in Logistics (NICOLOG) programme: an internship scheme aimed at giving young logisticians from the Armed Forces the opportunity to practice multinational logistics on a day-to-day basis in a real-life situation. The NICOLOG courses are run twice a year for periods of two months and internships are open to military and civilian staff from NATO and Partnership for Peace (PfP) nations. Preference is given to officers at or below OF-3 level (equivalent to the rank of major in the Army) holding logistics-related posts in their home nations. During their time with NAMSA the students are paid by their nations. They are given a range of briefings on the functioning of the Agency and an insight into logistics practices in an international defence related setting. Each intern is placed under the supervision of an experienced NAMSA staff officer and is encouraged to contribute to the daily work activities. He or she is assigned a project to be completed before the end of the internship. This project should be of interest and practical benefit for both the intern and NAMSA. To date, NAMSA has hosted NICOLOG students from virtually all the NATO countries as well as a significant number from PfP nations. For further information please contact: nicolog@namsa.nato.int. |
