Programme Management Offices
Most of NAMSA’s logistics support services are
provided by its internal business units, the Programme Management Offices
(PMOs). Each PMO is headed by a Programme Manager (PM), appointed by the
General Manager after NAMSO BOD approval.
Each PMO deals with the support of one or more weapon
systems. Based on workload forecasts provided by the customers for each
supported system, the PM establishes yearly operational budgets and manpower
requirements that are subject to customer approval. Throughout the year,
the PM ensures that the customers’ operational requirements are
met and provides customers with activity reports as requested. In addition,
the PM is responsible for business development activities aimed at attracting
new customers and expanding the scope of action of the PMO.
Within each PMO, there is a Materiel Management Centre
(MMC) where provisioning activities take place: contract administration,
buying from suppliers, selling to customers and arranging transportation
of goods. To perform these tasks, the MMCs are staffed by logisticians
and technicians. This staff is augmented by collocated procurement and
finance officers.
The following table lists the PMOs and the systems
